In the same way as the last year, we end this one with another work of the poet Todor Chaloski, edited by "Galikul". The book "Poezija" (Poetry) represents a collection of the author's poetry masterpieces. In the preface related to the review, Venko Andonovski will address the collection as a "Chalovski's misterious literary chest". The book can be found in the bookshops "TRI", "Matica Makedonska" and "Kultura".  |

Last Sunday, in the church St. Petar i Pavle in Galichnik, a year from the death of the most influential person in the social life in Galichnik during the major part of the second half of the XX century, Velimir Graorkoski, was marked. For most of his friends and relatives known only as Vele, he was more than a simple immigrant worker, political commissar in the National Liberation Army during the World War 2 and president of agricultural union "Bistra". New schedule of the customs which will be played at "Galichnik Wedding" 2011 has been determined. In the fall, previous year, Google published the improved satellite images over a part of Macedonia, which included Galichnik and its surroundings. The ones before had a relatively low resolution and major part of the terrain was covered by clouds. Those things prevented us to mark the important places in the Galichnik region for a long period, but after their autumn publishing on Google Maps/Earth we started to work on the exact markings according to the new images. the satellite image of Galichnik from June 2009, published in October 2010 As a result, at the end of this winter, we published the first general map of Galichnik (which will take updates all the time) and opened new item space ("Maps" in the main menu) where future markings based on the Google's images will be published. |

With the first snowfalls this autumn, the question of whether in the following winter period an efforts will be made for maintaining the road between Mavrovo and Galichnik, is again actualized. For a long time the local community prepares a strategy for reviving of Galichnik during the winter months by making the first big step this month - buying a bulldozer for snow clearance which will be used primarily for the needs of the natives and the tourists. One of the former vehicles which cleaned the road only in spring |

The past weekend Galichnik was shaken by the wedding celebration of Verica Mitrichka and Ljupcho Ravanoski, as well as several other events, in a unique form, not remembered for in the history of "Galichnik Wedding" manifestation. Part of the program related to the start of Galichnik cultural summer 2011, which marks the activities around Galichnik Wedding, planned to be held for 16-17.07. On the contest for bride and groom, the chosen ones were Verica Mitrichka and Ljupcho Ravanoski. Special participants in this year's manifestation will be the folklore groups "Kocho Racin" and "Folklorni Biseri".

Many years have passed since the last time the people have been able to reach Galichnik by vehicle in the middle of the winter period. This year, at least for the past weekend, Galichnik was reachable for everyone not being able to visit it by foot from Janche. The relatively warm winter helped the mechanization for road maintenance to crush the snow barriers at Carevec and Frchec, so that many admirers of its beauties took this opportunity to enjoy at the sunny winter days. |

Region of Galichnik is one of the last strongholds of the Balkans lynx - the cat on the verge of extinction. Till 15-20 years the direct encounters with it were more often, so in the last couple of years the question was asked if it is possible that this hunter left this territory as well. MES (Macedonian Ecological Society) team has given a strong proof of today's still huge activity of the Balkans lynx in these parts, with the successful accomplishment of the project for monitoring and protection of the Balkans lynx in the territory of Western Macedonia and Eastern Albania, especially inside the national park "Mavrovo".
