These days whole Reka as well as the wider macedonian public lives in sadness after the great loss suffered in the fire which gripped the monastery St. Jovan Bigorski and the priceless things that were swallowed by the flames. The cry of the monks and the people in the valley of Radika, immediately triggered a wide donation action for renewal of the irreplaceable, to numb the pain which has been inflicted to the Reka region and the world's heritage.

Galichnik-Official immediately took part in that action, by leaving the appeal of the monks brotherhood for helping the monastery on the front page for a longer period of time. Although we are furious because of the reasons for this great damage, we will put our feelings on hold and focus primarily on the ways the monastery should be helped.

- part of the hospices which remained in the history -

Especially people from Galichnik should have great motives to respond to this appeal because the largest part of the burnt hospices and other structures and artifacts were built and brought by the archimandrite Arsenij in the beginning of XIX century. By this way, the cry of the monastery which is an inseparable part of the history of Galichnik, will not be futile and people from Galichnik will continue to follow the steps of their great ancestors like Arsenij, Makarije and many others which ruled with St. Jovan Bigorski or took part in its construction and renewal of its parts on multiple occasions. We believe it can be done one more time.
